Summer camp 2017

JOIN SUMMER CAMP 2017

The Arc of Rensselaer County’s Summer Camp is a six-week inclusive program serving campers ages five to 21 years old. The home location for the camp is Tamarac Middle Schools.  The program is packed with onsite and offsite activities, including but not limited to bowling, a day at the movies, a trip to The Great Escape, and arts & crafts.  There are also fun theme days such as Favorite Superhero Day and Olympic Day.

The Arc of Rensselear County provides transportation to and from day camp for participants as needed (based on location) within Rensselaer County.

Accessing Supports

The Arc of Rensselaer County welcomes any inquiry or application for a support or service for a person with a developmental disability. We are open to explore the support possibilities with those who are interested prior to any formal application for services. We can also provide guidance and direction on how to apply for OPWDD related services. Our agency works closely with the local arm of OPWDD to determine eligibility and availability for services.

The Arc of Rensselaer County provides support to Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. These supports range from summer camp, in home support, residential support, day supports, guardianship, self-direction, etc, These supports are authorized by the New York State Office of People with Development Diabilities, OPWDD. Our Mission

The mission of The Arc of Rensselaer County is to advocate for the rights and safety of individuals of all ages who have an intellectual disability and/or a developmental disability or delay.
The Arc is a source of support, specialized knowledge, and available resources in assisting individuals and their families to meet their needs and goals.
The Arc works to influence societal attitudes and governmental policy so that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will have access to the services, assistance, and opportunities they need for personal growth and development, and participation in the community.
