Hello folks
This is my update on COVID 19 Vaccine and where you can go to get information.
We have had about 150 individuals receive the vaccine so far to date. The window to sign up is becoming more difficult as the demand for the Vaccine is increasing and the supplies are staying the same or even slowing down. So please consider signing up sooner than later to avoid months of delays. Even by signing up the process could take a while to get you scheduled so the sooner the better to get started in that process.

Dear Arc of Rensselaer County Staff,
As you may be aware, New York state announced last week that all individuals living in certified residential settings and the staff who support them would be included in Phase 1A of the state’s COVID-19 vaccination plan. Note this was done after much advocacy by us, Arc NY, and fellow Chapters.
We encourage you to get the Vaccine for your safety and the safety of our community. We realize there is a great deal of information out there. We wanted to get to you the following information as we know right now.
At this point, we believe that all staff will be offered the Moderna Vaccine. The Vaccine is not required; however, it is strongly encouraged. Attached to this email is the Fact Sheet on this Vaccine.
All individuals receiving the Vaccine must provide a completed consent form prior to receiving the Vaccine. Attached to this email is the necessary form for you to review. You can sign this form electronically at the Vaccine site or bring a paper copy with you as well.
Once we learn the distribution information, we will be sending out further details.

Day Services staff that are working in the Certified Residential Program during this time will be included in Phase 1 A of the Vaccine Program.
All other Non-Residential Staff are not included in Phase 1 A; New York State determined this.
However, if you are a Non-Residential staff who works in Residential for additional hours or overtime, you would consider this Phase 1 A.
Someone from the agency will reach out to you with specific information about the vaccination process as soon as we learn more.
